The Amazon

The Continental Amazon is made up of nine (9) Countries, namely: Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname and Brazil (9 Countries); The Legal Amazon (Brazilian) is made up of 9 states, namely: Roraima, Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Oeste do Maranhão, Pará, Tocantins, Mato Grosso and Rondônia.

Amazonas, being the largest State in the Amazon (area of 1,570,000 km²), is also the one with the largest area of preserved Tropical Forest on the Planet, that is: 97% of virgin Forest, also known as Hiléia (from the Greek “Zone of Jungles”). The Amazon has the largest hydrographic basin on Earth, around 6.86 million km², draining 25% of the surface of South America in six countries, there are more than a thousand rivers and tributaries that, if joined together, would correspond to more twice the circumference of the Earth.
The Capital of Amazonas, Manaus, is bathed by the imposing Rio Negro that originates in Colombia (Orinoco), and is dammed by the Amazon River, about 15 km below Manaus. River with dark waters, due to decomposition, segments, plants, leaves; It has soil that contains humic and tannic acids (Ph 4/4.3), which is why there is no proliferation of mosquitoes. The Rio Negro is around 2,250 km long and is made up of 80% of stones, sedimentary rocks and mountains, from the lower/middle to the upper Rio Negro. Also counting on minerals that are cataloged as gold, potassium, manganese, iron, niobium and cilice, the Rio Negro does not have 800 species of fish, which move by echolocution, due to the fact that they can see very little (10 %), because of the darkness of the waters.
